The US India Business Council (USIBC) hosted the health delegations from the governments of India and the United States recently in Washington DC. The US India health dialogue was followed up by the reception and dinner, held at the headquarters of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The event witnessed the presence of many important dignitaries such as Secretary Sudhansh Pant, the Union Health Secretary of India, Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Secretary Department of Health Research and Director-General Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Dr. Atul Goel, Director General of Health Services and Delegation, as well as Atul Gawande, USAID Assistant Administrator for Global Health.

This platform provided both nations to express and build on the shared dedication in taking healthcare outcomes to the next level, where the healthcare benefits are not restricted to their own countrymen alone and spread its impact on a global scale.

As per USIBC, the recent COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted and exemplified the transformative nature of such path-breaking collaborations. Both nations, as representatives of leading powers in the world, have shared medical resources, vaccines, or joint efforts in research and development, to tackle this lethal virus.

This collaboration goes beyond mere cooperation between two great nations and it truly represents a joint effort to harness their collective strength, specialization, and resources to provide cure and a healing touch to millions of people affected by extreme health issues in the world, as per a LinkedIn post by USIBC.
