Three award-winning Indian-origin filmmakers have teamed up in London to help launch the ‘Filme Shilmy Show’, being projected as a first-of-its-kind film-based live talk show celebrating South Asian cinema in Britain.

The primary focus of the newly launched show shall be on the cinema rooted in and reflective of Indian diaspora experiences.

Pravesh Kumar, Nathalia Syam, and Dr. Parvinder Shergill were part of the panel for its premiere on Friday entitled “A Spotlight On British Asian Filmmakers”, in conversation with UK-based film journalist and broadcaster Anuj Radia.

The UK-based film company ReelN, founded by Aman Dhillon, has partnered with online entertainment website Filme Shilmy to launch The Filme Shilmy Show. The show will feature South Asian talent, both independent and established names, who will appear to promote projects and discuss their journeys as storytellers.

The show’s producers said that they aim for the show to bridge the gap between South Asian artists and UK audiences.
