Spiritual Leader Acharya Lokesh has been bestowed with the Global Interfaith Unity Prize 2023 for his contribution to promoting global cultural and human values and the protection of world peace and harmony.

US Representative Danny K. Davis, Cook County Commissioner Dennis Deer, American Multi-Ethnic Coalition (AMEC) governor Dr. Zenobia Sowell and AMEC executive director Naveen Karna presented him with the award at a special program held at Bethel Mennonite Community Church, Chicago.

Being thankful for the honor, Acharya reflected on how it honors both Lord Mahavir and his teachings and the values embodied in India’s philosophy of Vasudev Kutumbum. The founder of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti emphasized that Indian culture is pluralist, unity in diversity is its fundamental characteristic, and its basic mantra is the harmony of all religions.

According to Danny K. Davis, Acharya Lokesh has been a pioneer in the promotion of global harmony and interfaith understanding through his work. He described Acharya Lokesh as the “messiah of humanity,” someone who is always prepared to do humanitarian work beyond the borders of any country, and thus a “ray of hope” for the world.

Reverend Tony Bianchi, Pastor of Bethel Mennonite Community Church, and awards jury president Dr. Vijay G. Prabhakar were also in attendance at the function.
