Hicksville all set to host 76th Indian Independence Day in Hicksville

On the occasion of India’s Independence Day, various events have been organized by people of Indian origin living abroad, and one of them is India Day Parade of Long Island Hicksville. This year the 12th India Day Parade dedicated to India’s Independence Day is being organized on August 27. 

A curtain raiser was held in Nassau County Legislative Building where the poster of 12th India Day Parade was released. Kevin Thomas, New York State Senator and Anna Kaplan, former New York State Senator, Elaine Phillips, Nassau County Comptroller participated on this occasion.

IDP Founder and Nassau County Human rights commission commissioner Bobby Kumar Kalotee, who started this parade 12 years ago, praised the organizers of this parade. Speaking on the occasion, he said that every individual is looking forward to making this parade historical under the presidentship of Deepak Bansal and Vimal Goyal. 

Ellaine Phillips, addressing the gathering said, “We’re here to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the Independence of India. I want to thank Bobby for being the founder of this Indian day parade. I want to thank you and the entire team because we all know that such events are not possible without a team of many people that are going to work hard.”

On this occasion, New York State Senator Kevin Thomas said that this parade is a symbol of the hard work and progress of the Indian American community living in America and the talk of this parade is happening everywhere.  On this occasion, former senator Anna Kaplan said that she feels proud to be a part of this parade.

The president of this parade Deepak Bansal and Vimal Goyal jointly thanked everyone for participating in this program and urged everyone to contribute to make this parade a success.
