Gaurav Shekhar, an Indian-origin academician has won a set of awards for his service to the Naveen Jindal School of Management (JSOM), University of Texas, Dallas, serving as an assistant dean for graduate programs and the community.
Shekhar has been named as a Dallas Business Journal (DBJ)- 40 Under 40 honoree for 2023. He will be awarded on July 20 at the 17th annual 40 under 40 Award ceremony for his excellent role as a business professional.
“Awards are nice, and you never think you will receive them, but these are really for the university. They are representative of the impact the school is making in the community. We are ambassadors of the university. I came here as a student and was recently named as an assistant dean. To this date, coming to the Jindal School was the best decision of my life. I found my calling here,” Shekhar proudly acclaimed.
Shekhar was conferred with an award by District 50 of Toastmasters International for his excellent work and longtime association. As a district leader of Toastmasters International, Shekhar led from the front during the Covid-19 crisis to sustain its operations in virtual mode.
Described as a futuristic thinker who puts action behind his words, received the Men Supporting Women in Tech 2023 award from Women Leading Technology.
At JSOM, Shekhar serves as an assistant professor of instruction in the field of information systems and teaches business intelligence and digital consulting to both graduates and undergraduates. He received his graduate degree from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, India, and his master’s from the University of Texas, Dallas.
