The grandeur and the festive mood while celebrating Bastille Day were evident and marked by the presence of PM Modi alongside French President Macron at the Champs-Élysées in Paris on Friday. PM Modi and President Macron graced the occasion and arrived at the main stage after receiving a guard of honour.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the scintillating parade as the Guest of Honour at Champs-Élysées which was decorated in red, blue and white colours of the French Flag as part of the grand celebrations.

At the venue, Macron met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the two leaders shared a warm hug. There were many other dignitaries present at the event in honour of the guest.

Macron arrived in an open vehicle with soldiers in horses, jeeps and bikes marching along with him and waved at the people who had gathered to witness the grand parade on France National Day.

PM Modi arrived at the Champs-Elysees dressed in an Indian traditional off-white kurta and pyjama beautifully paired with a navy blue jacket for the Bastille Day Parade in Paris. He was received by the French First Lady Brigitte Macron and France’s PM Élisabeth Borne.

India as a strategic partner of France was represented by an Indian tri-services contingent in the Bastille Day Parade. Further, three Indian Air Force Rafale fighter jets are also making their presence felt in the French sky as part of the Bastille Day flypast over the Champs Elysees in Paris.
