Global Indians: Karan Johar to be honored at British Parliament for his role in shaping the Global Entertainment Industry

Johar will be celebrating his 25th anniversary of contribution to the global entertainment industry by releasing Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani

Karan Johar, India’s prolific and very successful filmmaker will be honored at the British Parliament in the presence of Lords and Members of Parliament for his precious contribution to the entertainment industry of the world on Tuesday, 20th June 2023. This special ceremony will happen at the Palace of Westminster, the meeting place for both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, of the UK Parliament.

Johar has shot films across United Kingdom and his movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil hold a special relationship with UK. He was chosen as a Goodwill Ambassador in 2012, for Visit Britain, a special campaign to attract and invite people to visit and explore the country.

His blockbuster movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and My Name Is Khan set new records and became the highest grossing Indian films at the UK Box Office upon their respective theatrical releases. He is the head of Dharma Productions, a top film production studio of India, which is behind films like Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, Sooryavanshi, Baahubali, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.

Jauhar’s 25th anniversary of his association and contribution to the global entertainment industry will be celebrated with the release of his next film Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani. This film starring British India-born actress Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, is set for release in UK cinemas and globally on 28th July 2023.

A new-age romantic flick, Rocky aur Rani will also feature Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan in prominent roles. Rocky aur Rani has been shot extensively in Mumbai, Moscow and Delhi, and is expected to keep fans excited about the magic of Karan Johar yet again.
