Indian American Impact Summit and Gala held in Washington

The Indian American Impact Project hosted its 2023 Summit and Gala: The Next 100 Years on Tuesday, June 6th, in Washington, DC. Summit speakers included members of Congress such as Rep. Pramila Jayapal, award-winning authors and filmmakers such as Valarie Kaur; senior policy makers in the Biden-Harris administration, Jigar Shah at the Department of Energy; elected leaders from across the country like Rep. Ranjeev Puri (MI) and Assemblywoman Sadaf Jaffer (NJ); and dozens of artists, journalists, seasoned campaign experts, and community leaders.

Impact Summit was held at Washington Marriott Georgetown whereas Impact Gala was organized at the Kennedy centre in Washington.

“India has an incredibly important role to play in the world,” Indian-American Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal said. “The two countries face many similar challenges in their respective affairs but have some great opportunities to work together to address them. India-US relations are very important on multiple levels — “we are two democracies. Our constitutions both start with ‘We, the People’. We have similar sets of values historically, and we have similar challenges.”


“It is clear that India has an incredibly important role to play in the world.,” Jayapal said on the sidelines of the Indian-American Impact Summit here. Earlier, participating in a live podcast at the start of the Indian-American Impact Summit, the Congresswoman called for a legislative agenda for the Indian Americans.
