Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla’s book released in New York at a Grand reception by Jaipur Foot, USA

Jaipur Foot, USA, hosted a reception on April 25, 2023, to honor Harsh Vardhan Shringla, chief coordinator for the G-20 Summit, which will be attended by representatives of 43 countries. The Summit will be organized in September 2023 in New Delhi.

Organized by Jaipur Foot USA president, Prem Bhandari, the reception celebrated the launch of Shringla’s book “Not an Accidental Rise”, which reflects on the life and career trajectory of the former foreign secretary who became the top diplomat and gives insights on India’s major diplomatic accounts. The reception was attended by the Consul General of India in New York, Randhir Jaiswal, former Ambassador to India, Kenneth Juster, as well as eminent members of the Indian community.

Ambassador Juster spoke about his fond memories of working with Ambassador Shringla to build Indo-US Ties. He spoke highly of Shringla for his continued association after the later moved back to the Ministry of External Affairs as Foreign Secretary. Consul General had words of praise for Ambassador Shringla with whom he had served in New Delhi. He spoke about the meteoric rise of Shringla through the ranks to the highest level in MEA.

Ambassador Shringla thanked both Ambassador Juster and Consul General Jaiswal. He expressed his gratitude to Bhandari and the Jaipur Foot USA team for hosting the reception. He thanked the author of the book and signed copies for guests.

Ambassador Shringla also inaugurated his website on the book created by community leader Ravi Pulli at the event.

The event was coordinated by Rajeev Bhambri, Secretary, Jaipur Foot USA, who also hosted the presentation ceremony. It was held at Saar in Midtown Manhattan.

During the event, at the request of Ashok Sancheti, KK Mehta and Chandra Mehta, who have been regular contributors to Jaipur Foot, willingly agreed to donate $121,000 to Siddhachalam, a Jain temple in New Jersey. The Mehtas have been regular contributors to Jaipur Foot.

Surendra Adhana and Pratik of the Permanent Mission of India were also present.

Sunil Hali, Publisher and Promoter of The Indian EYE Newsweekly, and Radio Zindagi, Yoshita Singh of PTI, and Vikas Nangia of TV ASIA were present from the Indian media. The event was broadcast live by Gunjesh Desai of Masala Junction.

Eminent members of the Indian community and international media were also in attendance. K K Mehta, President, Rajasthan Foundation; Harish Thakkar, President AIA (NY), Capt. George Stanley, Ashok Pandey, Rajeev Pandya, President JITO New York Chapter; Shailesh Jalani, President Indian Diamonds, and Color Association; Former RANA Presidents – Dashrath Dugar, Haridas Kotewala and Office bearers of Jaipur foot USA and RANA – Ashok Sancheti, Atul Kothari, Neelam Modi, Harish, Vipul Saha; Former FIA President and Chairman Bihar Foundation Alok Kumar were among the dignitaries present.
