With family photos, posts and pandal visits, Bollywood stars show its devotion to Ganpati

Ganesh Chaturthi, a ten-day festival that starts on the fourth day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month Bhadrapada, started on August 31 this year. It is celebrated with much fanfare in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra with lakhs of devotees converging onto pandals to seek blessing from Lord Ganesh.

Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, on Thursday, dropped some pictures from her Ganesh Charturthi celebrations with her son Jeh on social media. Taking to her Instagram handle, she posted a couple of pictures where Kareena and Jeh can be seen seating beside a Ganesh idol which is decorated with flowers. Kareena wore a geometric print salwar suit and Jeh donned black T-shirt with grey pants. She captioned the post with hand-folding and heart emoji.

As soon as she shared pictures, fans showered love on mother-son duo.

Kareena also re-shared Karisma Kapoor’s post where she can be seen posing with her parents, sisters and cousins for the family picture. Along with the picture, she wrote in Hindi, “Mera Parivaar”.

Karishma also posted a glimpse of the celebration. In the first picture, she can be seen sitting in front of Lord Ganesh’s idol. The actor looks beautiful in a floral print traditional outfit.

Sharing the post, she wrote in Hindi, “Ganpati Bappa Morya”. The ‘Raja Hindustani’ actor put out a post to Instagram that showcased adorable pictures of her ‘family time’. In the post, the ‘ Judwaa’ actor shared three pictures — the first one is a family picture that captures her family in a single frame. The snap captures Karisma in traditional attire, while the whole family along with father Randhir Kapoor, mom Babita Kapoor, sister Kareena and her little munchkin Taimur among other smilingly posed.

On the other hand, the second one shows the ‘Hero No. 1’ actor’s daughter Samiera Kapoor sitting on her knees as she offers prayers in front of Ganpati temple in the house. The third picture showcased an embellished idol of Ganpati in the altar.

Along with the pictures, the ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ star noted, “Ganapati Darshan (with folded hands emoji) #familytime.”

With the picture hitting the photo-sharing platform, celebrity followers including Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and more than 59,000 fans adored the post.

Also, Sidharth Malhotra, on Thursday, dropped pictures from his visit to Lalbaugcha Raja on social media. The ‘Shershaah’ actor took to Instagram and shared a photo where he can be seen posing in front of Lord Ganesha’s iconic 14-feet idol. He opted a simple light-white coloured kurta pyjama. Along with the post, he wrote, “Grateful for everything, Excited for what lies ahead of us…We thank god with all our heart.”

With 2022 bringing back the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities following two years-long COVID-induced hiatus, preparations are in full swing across the nation. For the festivities, people bring Lord Ganesh idols to their homes, observe fasts, prepare mouth-watering delicacies, and visit pandals during this festival.

The history of the Lalbaugcha Raja has been quite famous since ancient times. It is located at Putlabai Chawl, a worship place which was founded in 1934. The Lalbaugcha Raja Ganapati idol has been organised by the Kambli family for over eight decades.

Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor is basking in the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. She is often sharing pictures from her Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations on social media. Recently, she shared a glimpse where she can be seen enjoying a large plate of Modaks. She wrote, “Kuch nahi hota bhaie, Khaate Jao.”

The ‘Aashiqui 2’ actor also shared pictures with Ganpati celebrations where she can be seen wearing a beautiful saree. She also posed with her Ganpati.

She captioned the post, “Ganpatti Bappa Morya!!! My favourite 10 days of the year.”

Ganesh Chaturthi celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha. It is one of the most popular Hindu festivals which is celebrated for 10 days. People believed that during this time, Lord Ganesha arrives on Earth with her mother and goddess Parvati.

Superstar Salman Khan’s entire family came together to welcome Lord Ganesha at his sister Arpita Khan Sharma’s house. On Wednesday night, Salman took to Instagram and gave his fans a glimpse of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. In the clip, Salman is seen performing Ganpati arti and offering prayers to the Lord Ganesha at his sister’s residence.

The video begins with Salman performing the puja. He is followed by his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma and sister Arpita who go on to perform the Ganesh aarti. Riteish Deshmukh also performed arti.

“Ganpati Bappa Morya,” Salman captioned the video.

For the special occasion, Salman arrived at Arpita’s residence wearing a white shirt and denim.

Katrina Kaif, who shares a close bond with Salman’s sister Arpita, also visited Arpita’s house to pay respect to the deity. Not just she, Vicky Kaushal also made quite an appearance outside Arpita’s house as he smiled for the paparazzi alongside his wife. Katrina was every bit stunning in a yellow sharara, while Vicky complemented her in a mustard kurta and churidar.

Salman’s siblings Sohail, Arbaaz and Alvira and their mother Salma were also seen at Arpita’s residence.

This auspicious ten-day festival starts with Chaturthi Tithi and ends on Anantha Chaturdashi.

Music composer and singer Himesh Reshammiya treated fans with his latest track ‘Ganpati Gajaanann’ on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The song is the first single from his third label named ‘Himesh Reshammiya Devotional’.

This beautiful and devotional song has been composed by Reshammiya’s father the legendary Vipin and Himesh has done the vocals for it. This is the first time the father-son duo has collaborated. The song has been penned by Shudharkar Sharma.

The video received 5 million views within one day.

Meanwhile, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Sunday performed the rituals of Ganpati Visarjan and bade adieu to Lord Bappa in an affectionate manner.

The ‘Don’ star posted a black-and-white, half-faced selfie on Twitter, and also shared a sweet message for his legion of followers. “Prayers and visarjan done… This #GaneshChaturthi, may Lord Ganesha bestow upon you and your loved ones, blessings and happiness… Ganpati Bappa Morya!,” the 54-year-old actor tweeted.
