Indian American community leaders will gather alongside local elected officials at Piscataway’s Quibbletown Park to dedicate a new cricket pitch to Late Jaswant “Jay” Bhailal Mody, a cherished Township resident and South Asian trailblazer who passed away last year at the age of 83.

“Jay Mody was dedicated to his family, the Indian community and the United States,” Piscataway Councilmember Kapil K. Shah said.  “He worked tirelessly for the well-being of others and his pride was seeing all generations of South Asians contributing to the community at large and enjoying the benefits of their work.”

The 66’x10’ clay cricket pitch is located on Quibbletown Park’s multiuse field and will be used by the Piscataway Cricket Academy (PCA).

“Many, many hours will be filled with the fun of sport and good community spirit at this cricket pitch,” Mayor Brian C. Wahler said.  “It is a fitting honor that it be named after Jay who spent decades creating opportunities for Piscataway residents and building our Township.”
