In the midst of a gruesome lockdown in Mumbai, Bollywood actor Prashantt Guptha has teamed up with ace singers Salman Ali and Vipin Aneja to feature in a music video titled MANZAR. Releasing through an upcoming music label Lafzon Music and produced by the song’s lyricist Gilbert, the music video has recently released worldwide with hopes that it revives a sense of hope and brings smiles on the face of its viewers.
Says director Devansh Patel, “Manzar was born out of separation, hardship and the frustration of the pandemic. A song this personal needed a personal story too. With poignant lyrics, mesmerizing vocals, simple melody and an even simpler utopian message, Manzar was created for the people of the world. Beyond the lives and the livelihood, the pandemic took away the most personal, powerful and profound emotion that unites mankind – our smile. Manzar is an ode to humanity.”
This is Devansh Patel’s debut as a director, who has earlier been a film critic and journalist from London, and the host of Zee’s Bollywood Times talk show. It also marks the first collaboration of Indian idol sensation Salman Ali and popular stage & playback singer Vipin Aneja, most popularly known for his hit song, jaane tere sheher ka, from Irrfan Khan’s Jazbaa. The highlight of the music video is, considering the stringent shooting laws in these Covid times, Mumbai’s Yellow Frames Studio heads Tushar Uttamchandani and Ankur Mishra shot the video in record 4-hours time with a 3-member crew and 2 handheld cameras. Once again, actor Prashantt Guptha makes his native New York proud through the unique and impactful work he features in. With Manzar, he has become the face of an instant hit song, his film THE TASHKENT FILES recently won The National Award, and his upcoming Hindi movie LOVE YOU BAHUT SAARA won the best film award at New York’s SOUTH ASIAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. Post Disney Hotstar’s SPECIAL OPS, he is now signed for a new Bollywood feature and major web-series, details of which he will reveal once he goes into production.
