Canada bans flights from India due to pandemic

Delhi Airport on Friday welcomed a special charter flight carrying 700 oxygen concentrators from Dublin Airport, as an aid from Europe

Canada has banned passenger flights from India following the surge of COIV-19 cases and number of deaths. The restriction has been imposed for one month.

Flights from Pakistan have also been banned.

Only the cargo flights carrying vaccines, PPE and other essential goods are exempt.

There are nearly 17 flights from Delhi to Vancouver and Tornoto each week.

Nearly 44 COVID positive flights have landed in Canada in month of April.

Canadian transport minister, Omar Alghabra said that they have taken such decision for 30 days till May 22, this month.

The decision has already been welcomed by the Indo – Canadian aviation experts.

Currently all the travelers landing in Canada have to undergo the COVID tests and quarantine themselves in particular hostels created for the same.

Also, there are strict quarantine rules made for people who are in quarantine. Anyone violating the same faces a fine of $3000 and above 250 passengers have been slapped with this hefty fine.

Few passengers who tried to produce fake documents have been arrested.
