Niraj Antani is Ohio’s first Indian American senator

Antani served as State Representative for the Ohio House 42nd District since 2014.

Niraj Antani was sworn-in as the Ohio State Senator from the 6th District on Monday. He became the state’s first Indian American State Senator in history. He will serve a full four-year term. Antani said: “I am so grateful to be able to represent the community in which I was born and raised as a State Senator.”

Antani promised that he would continue to work hard every day for each Ohioan so they have an opportunity to achieve their American dreams. “In this uncertain economic and health time, we must diligently strive to enact policies for the benefit of all Ohioans,” he said. Antani thanked the voters for trusting him with the sacred honor to be their voice at the Statehouse. 

Antani previously served as State Representative for the Ohio House 42nd District since 2014. He was the youngest serving member of the Ohio State House of Representatives.
