Veteran US immigration attorney Michael Phulwani passed away late Saturday in New Jersey. He was 84.
Phulwani was admitted to practice law in New York and India, and practiced US Immigration and Nationality Laws for 40 years. He was known for successfully handling complex immigration matters with the Immigration and Naturalization Service and Consular Processing cases at American Consulates.
Phulwani was widely honored in the Indian American community by several organizations for his community service and law practice.
He is recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award from Federation of Indian Association (FIA) in 2008 and the 2015 Professional Excellence Life Time Achievement Award by the New Jersey Law Journal. He co-hosted a weekly television show, “Immigration and You,” with Attorney David Nachman. Phulwani also wrote “Guide to US Visas.”
Phulwani’s law offices are located in Mumbai and Ridgewood, NJ.
