Shweta Tripathi, widely recognized for her breakout performance in ‘Mirzapur’, is showing no signs of slowing down. Fresh off completing ‘Mirzapur: The Film’, the actor has seamlessly transitioned into her next feature project, ‘Palkon Pe’, without taking a break. After wrapping the Mumbai schedule of Mirzapur, Tripathi moved directly onto the new film, which went on floors on December 23 and is being shot on a tightly planned schedule set to conclude by mid-January.

The cast and crew, including actors Rahul Mittra, Abhishek Chauhan, and Eshan Naqvi, are currently stationed in Bhopal, filming across multiple locations in the city. Rahul Mittra, who was recently seen in the courtroom drama ‘Haq’ alongside Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi, plays a pivotal role as Tripathi’s father in the film.

The movie director – Niddhish Puuzhakkal

Written and directed by noted ad filmmaker Niddhish Puuzhakkal, ‘Palkon Pe’ is positioned as a socially relevant drama that explores themes of divorce, gender equality, sexuality, and mental health. Known for bringing a psychologist’s perspective to visual storytelling, Puuzhakkal aims to present a nuanced commentary on contemporary social issues.

Speaking about the swift transition between projects, Tripathi described the experience as energizing rather than exhausting. “I wrapped up the shoot of ‘Mirzapur: The Film’, and almost immediately found myself stepping into a completely new world and a new story,” she said, adding that while many are celebrating the holiday season, she is choosing to celebrate by doing what she loves most—being on set.

Produced by Rahul Gandhi’s Tamboo Entertainment in association with Saleem Javed’s Zaira Entertainment, ‘Palkon Pe’ is slated for release in 2026.
