Acclaimed Indian film icon Shabana Azmi has officially joined the cast of USA v. RAJ, a powerful new feature film that dramatizes the extraordinary real-life ordeal of Dr. Raj Bothra, whose case has sparked global conversations around judicial system.
The film commenced the principal photography in London which is helmed by award-winning director and cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran, known for his visually striking and emotionally resonant storytelling and produced by Prashant Shah.
In a performance poised to be one of the film’s emotional anchors, Shabana Azmi portrays Pammi Bothra, the resilient matriarch who became the pillar of strength for her family throughout their unimaginable ordeal. Azmi’s portrayal is expected to bring profound emotional depth, illuminating the human toll of the case and the unwavering spirit that sustained the Bothra family.
Film is scheduled to wrap UK shoot by January 2026.
