Actress Rashmika Mandanna has fiercely criticized the misuse of artificial intelligence to create fake explicit images of women in the film industry, demanding strict punishment for offenders.
In a strongly worded post on X today, Mandanna described AI-generated vulgar content as a “deep moral decline,” urging ethical use of the technology and personal discernment. She stated that when truth can be manufactured, vigilance becomes essential, and the internet now serves as a canvas for fabrication rather than reality. “AI is a force for progress, but its misuse to create vulgarity and target women signals a deep moral decline in certain people… Choose responsibility over recklessness. If people cannot act like humans, then strict & unforgiving punishment must be served to them,” she emphasized.
The outburst follows a surge in AI-driven deepfakes morphing celebrities’ faces onto explicit material, raising alarms across Indian entertainment. Several actors have voiced similar concerns, highlighting the technology’s potential for harm against women. Mandanna joins this chorus, calling for accountability to foster a dignified society.
On the professional front, Mandanna prepares for Cocktail 2, directed by Homi Adajania, sequel to the 2012 hit starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, known for its fresh take on relationships.
