Madhuri Dixit’s Canada show organisers clarified the reasons behind her delayed arrival at a Toronto event on November 2, attributing the incident to misinformation from her own management team. The event, held at the Great Canadian Casino Resort, faced backlash on social media after fans criticized the Bollywood star for arriving approximately three hours late.
According to the event organisers, True Sound Live Ltd., the show’s schedule included a Q&A session followed by Dixit’s 60-minute performance segment. However, despite the production team’s readiness and ongoing communication, Dixit’s management misunderstood the call time, which led to her arriving only around 10 PM. The organisers emphasized that the delay was beyond their control and labeled the negative commentary on social media as misleading.
The organisers also addressed disruptions backstage, stating that certain individuals were preoccupied with personal video recordings, which further complicated the coordination and timing. They invited the public to view the available footage that shows Dixit’s on-stage presence and performance to judge the situation objectively.
Social media users expressed dissatisfaction not only with the late start but also with the show’s unclear format, as many expected a chat show interspersed with performances but felt this was not communicated properly. Some fans complained about the event’s timing, with one noting that tickets indicated a 7:30 PM start but the actual performance only began much later, leading to frustration among attendees.
While the backlash has resulted in calls for refunds and reports to Consumer Protection authorities, Madhuri Dixit and her team have yet to respond publicly to the controversy. The organisers reiterated their regret over the confusion and thanked those who supported the event despite the issues.
