The vibrant colors and cultural spirit of India will once again light up Times Square as Saree Goes Global returns for its second consecutive year at Father Duffy Square, Times Square, New York City on November 16, 2025.

Organized by Uma Global in partnership with the Consulate General of India in New York, this one-of-a-kind celebration will bring together participants from across the United States and beyond to showcase the timeless elegance of the saree through live music, dance, and the signature Saree Walkathon.

Uma Global extends its sincere gratitude to Ambassador Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, Consul General of India in New York, and his team for their continued support and partnership in this initiative.

“We’re thrilled to bring Saree Goes Global back to Times Square,” said Rita Kakati-Shah, President of Uma Global and member of the Host Committee. “This event celebrates not only the beauty of the saree but also the confidence, strength, and cultural pride that it represents for women around the world.”

Special appreciation goes to the event’s Host Committee members — Garima Agrawal, Jayeeta Mukherjee, Pooja Mugilan, Nira Bahauddin, Mitali Chattopadhyay, Salma Khan, and Dipti Jain — as well as volunteer organizations Saree Era, British Women in Sarees, and Mrs. India Worldwide.

Building on the success of last year’s event, Saree Goes Global continues to highlight the saree as a global symbol of unity, heritage, and empowerment — while also raising awareness of artisans and traditional craftsmanship in India.

In a city celebrated for its diversity, this vibrant gathering stands as a powerful reminder that cultural heritage connects communities and inspires confidence across generations.
