South Indian superstar Prabhas is set to face off against international Korean action star Don Lee in the highly anticipated Telugu-language cop thriller “Spirit,” directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The collaboration officially announced by the film’s makers has sparked excitement as it marks Don Lee’s debut in Indian cinema. Known globally for his roles in “Train to Busan” and Marvel’s “Eternals,” Don Lee will play the antagonist opposite Prabhas in this dark-toned detective crime drama scheduled for release in 2026.
The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series in partnership with Sandeep’s Bhadrakali Pictures. It also features actors Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj, and Triptii Dimri, who replaced Deepika Padukone as the female lead due to scheduling conflicts. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for “Kabir Singh” and “Animal,” promises a high-octane, intense cop thriller designed to push the genre’s boundaries with a unique storytelling approach.
Earlier this month, a “sound story” teaser was released on Prabhas’s birthday, presented in five Indian languages, offering fans a gripping audio glimpse of the film’s dark and gritty world. The teaser’s tagline, “The system knows his record. The streets know his rage. Now the world will know his #OneBadHabit,” hints at Prabhas’s role as a complex, rage-driven cop.
Don Lee’s involvement, confirmed after his social media posts showing travel to India, adds a significant international dimension to the film, reflecting growing cross-cultural collaborations in cinema. “Spirit” aims for a theatrical release in late 2026 and is anticipated to be among the biggest cop thrillers in Indian film history.
