From California to Toronto to Times Square—Diwali goes global on October 12th!

The 2025 Diwali celebration at Times Square is going to be really special in partnership with the San Francisco Diwali Festival and the Toronto Diwali Festival, marking the 10th Anniversary of Diwali at Times Square and truly making history.

Only two New Year’s celebrations take place in Times Square: New Year’s Eve on December 31st and Diwali at Times Square with Diwali at Times Square having recognized as the biggest Diwali celebration outside of India.

One of the honorees is from ABC Emmy Award winner – Hemanth Paranji who is working on the Evening World News with David Muir.

The Diwali at Times Square Program will kick off at 12 noon from 48th Street & Broadway, beginning with a vibrant Lord Ganesha procession leading to the main stage at 46th Street and Broadway.

12:45 PM – Diya (lamp) lighting Ceremony, followed by the Colors of India & America Program—a cultural showcase celebrating India’s diversity and America’s spirit of inclusion.

At 5:00 PM sharp, the iconic Diya Lighting Ceremony will take place on the Ball Drop Tower Screen, synchronized with the countdown and the rising flame—an unforgettable moment of light and unity.

The evening will conclude with the Light Up Times Square Concert, featuring an incredible lineup of performers (see full list below). Diwali at Times Square – Main Stage Celebration

All dignitaries will be invited on the stage to address the attendees

Highlights include:

Malkit Singh – Living legend, Singer/Rapper/Songwriter/Motivational Speaker/Philanthropist/Guinness World Record Holder, who brought Punjabi music to the world. His music continues to inspire audiences everywhere.

Raja Kumari – Indian-American rapper and pioneer blending spirituality with Indian music, taking Indian sounds to new horizons.

Sparsh Shah – a prodigy, singer, rapper, songwriter, music producer, inspirational speaker, Guinness World Records holder, and philanthropist. Performing in Times Square since its inception, he will rock the stage again with Ganesh Vandana and his own produced lyrics and music.

Two Indian music idols from India – Showcasing how Indian music continues to evolve and captivate audiences globally.

Rishi Singh, Indian Idol 2023 winner, and Anjana Padmanabhan, Indian Idol Junior winner and 2024 Finalist – Showcasing how Indian music continues to evolve and captivate audiences globally.
