One of the biggest stars of the Telugu film industry, Pawan Kalyan has set the box office on fire with his new film ‘They Call Him OG’. The film has become the highest grossing film on the opening day this year. The movie has earned a total of Rs 70 crore at the domestic box office and globally the movie is expected to cross the Rs 150 crore mark on its very first day.
As per the reports, They Call Him OG, on its opening day, has earned Rs 20.25 crore in Telugu as a part of paid previews on the pre-release day thus taking its total earning to Rs 90.25 crore. With such record breaking numbers, the movie has surpassed Hari Hara Veera Mallu which earned Rs 34 crore on its opening and has become the highest first day grossing movie of Pawan Kalyan ever.
The top earning movies on the first day at Box Office this year have been Rajinikanth’s Coolie which earned Rs 65 crore, followed by Vicky Kaushal’s epic Chhaava which accounted for Rs 31 crore and surprising everyone Saiyaara which earned a total of Rs 21.5 crore, starring two debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.
The movie, ‘They Call Him OG’ is directed by Sujeeth and is produced by D. V. V. Danayya. The film stars Pawan Kalyan in the lead role as the retired gangster OG, who returns to Mumbai in 1993 after a ten-year disappearance. He’s returned back to confront the rival crime lord Omi Bhau, played by Emraan Hashmi, who’s making his debut in the Telugu film industry. The supporting cast includes Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and Prakash Raj.
