This year has been pretty rough for Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Plc as higher tariffs in the United States have hurt Land Rover sales in the company’s largest market. The British marquee of India’s Tata Motors Ltd., has now announced that they are extending their production shutdown yet again due to the lasting brunt of the cyberattack they endured.

The company published a notice on its website this Tuesday, on September 23rd, in which they announced that they have extended the shutdown on production till Wednesday, 1 October 2025. They clarified that this has been done to build a timeline to restart operations and carry on their investigations.

The notice read, “We’ve extended the current pause in production until Wednesday, 1 October 2025, following the cyber incident. We have made this decision to give clarity for the coming week as we build the timeline for the phased restart of our operations and continue our investigation.”

They have also reported that their teams are working with the NCSC UK to ensure that when they restart the production the security is not compromised.

“Our teams continue to work around the clock alongside cybersecurity specialists, the NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre, UK) and law enforcement to ensure we restart in a safe and secure manner,” JLR added.

JLR had a very unfortunate incident as the company was hit hard by a cyberattack that completely pushed their operations off the track. Now with this complete shutdown of production, JLR has found itself in a load of trouble as their suppliers are not able to cope up with the fallout. Not only that but the company had also announced that through this cyberattack some of their data might have been compromised.
