The iconic Director-Actor duo of Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and Manoj Bajpayee is finally reuniting after almost three decades after their iconic film Satya. The duo are coming together for a horror comedy titled ‘Police Station Mein Bhoot.’

When speaking about reuniting again, the legendary filmmaker stated that he feels nostalgic and thrilled to work with Manoj Bajpayee once again after Satya. He also talked about the project saying that police is the highest authority in the country and when fear stands against it, nothing can be more frightening.

Varma said, “Working with Manoj again after Satya is both nostalgic and thrilling. Fear becomes most frightening when it challenges the highest authority of safety, and a police station is the ultimate symbol of power.”

As per the reports, along with Bajpayee, the film project will also star Sitaare Zameen Par-actress Genelia Deshmukh in it as well. The director has stated that this combination of Genelia and Bajpayee will push the boundaries of horror in Indian cinema.

“With Manoj’s intensity and Genelia’s vulnerability, this story will push boundaries of how we perceive horror in the guise of authority,” added Ram Gopal Varma.

The filmmaker has revealed that the shooting has already begun and they have already completed the first schedule of the project. The film will be a perfect blend of comedy, fear, irony, and RGV’s signature storytelling that has entertained the Indian audience for years.

Manoj Bajpayee and RGV last worked together in the critically acclaimed film Satya that was released 27 years ago in 1998. The movie was written by Saurabh Shukla and Anurag Kashyap and starred JD Chakravarthy, Urmila Matondkar, Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Shrivastava and Paresh Rawal alongside Manoj Bajpayee. It was the first film of Varma’s gangster trilogy that highlighted organised crime in India.
