Rani Kapur, the mother of late businessman Sunjay Kapur, has made some major allegations this Friday, on July 25th, just a few hours before the yearly general meeting of the Sona Comstar company owned by the Kapur family. Rani has made accusations stating that she was forced to sign some documents behind lock doors and was left to the mercy of a select few for survival.
Rani Kapur wrote a very emotional letter to the Sona Comstar board in which she stated that she was a majority shareholder of the Sona Group including the Sona Comstar. She wrote that she was still grieving the loss of her son but in the midst of that she was ‘compelled to sign various documents without explanation’. As per some sources she even questioned the decision made by the board to appoint people who are representing themselves as the largest shareholders, pertaining to her own daughter-in-law.
In what seemed like a cry for help, Rani stated that she had been pressed to sign certain documents without even revealing their contents. She also revealed that she has been denied access to her account and all this has happened in just one month of her son’s death.
“Despite being under immense mental and emotional distress, I was coerced into signing such documents behind locked doors and, though I’ve requested repeatedly, the contents of such documents have never been revealed to me. Please also take note I have been totally denied access to my accounts and been left to the mercy of a select few for survival. All this, in less than a month of my only son passing away,” the letter read.
Rani Kapur has claimed that she has received information regarding the gross illegalities in the company from certain well-wishers which has left her quite disturbed. However, the company has responded to the claims hours later stating that Rani Kapur has not been a shareholder since 2019 and has reported that they have appointed Priya Sachdev Kapur, the wife of late Sunjay Kapur.
