A devastating road accident in Dallas, Texas has claimed the lives of a family of four from Hyderabad, India, who were vacationing in the United States. The victims — Tejaswini, Sri Venkat, and their two young children — died after their car collided head-on with a mini-truck on Monday in Green County.

According to initial reports, the mini-truck was allegedly traveling on the wrong side of the road when it rammed into the family’s vehicle. The force of the crash caused the car to burst into flames, trapping the family inside and resulting in their deaths by immolation.

Authorities said the family had recently traveled to Atlanta to visit relatives and were en route back to Dallas when the fatal collision occurred.

Due to the severity of the fire, only skeletal remains were recovered from the charred vehicle. Local officials have dispatched the remains for forensic testing and plan to use DNA analysis to confirm the victims’ identities before releasing the bodies to their relatives.

The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through both local communities and the Indian diaspora in the U.S., as investigations into the crash continue.
