Aamir Khan returned to the big screens with the premiere of his new movie ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ on Thursday, June 19th. The movie premier was loaded with Bollywood stars and celebrities, both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were also present at the event. Along with them Aamir’s girlfriend Gauri Spratt and his son Azad Rao Khan also attended the event.
Aamir’s Sitaare Zameen Par is an official remake of the 2018 Spanish film, Campeones (Champions) which was also remade by Hollywood in the later years. Alongside Aamir the film stars, Genelia D’Souza and 10 debuting actors – Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
The movie is an underdog story that is a perfect mixture of comedy, emotions and the feeling of unity that a sport drives within you to face physical, mental and societal adversity. The movie shows a short tempered coach who is given the opportunity to lead the team of neurodivergent adults as a part of his community service.
The film shows how the team of these neurodivergent adults changed their short-tempered coach who has always been insecure about his height. The film, despite its slow pace, engages the audience fully and forms such a strong emotional bond with its viewers that they connect to the characters like they are one of their own. The movie showcases strong performances from all its cast of debuting actors and especially by ‘the Perfectionist’, Aamir Khan who shined in his role.
In the grand premiere of the movie there were many celebrities and stars present but the one who stole the limelight was Salman Khan. The Andaz Apna Apna duo were seen having fun with the paps as Salman recalled how Aamir took this film away from his grasp after he had said yes to it.
Salman said, “He didn’t tell you the story behind the film? Aamir had invited me to listen to this subject. I went and I really loved the film; I even said yes, but then I got a call from him saying, ‘I’m making the film.’ I had praised the film so much that he decided to do it himself.”
