“India’s future lies in the Northeast,” announces Jyotiraditya Scindia

The Rising Northeast Investors Summit that concluded on Saturday was a successful event. The Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has claimed that MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) that were worth Rs. 4.3 lakh crores were announced on the first day of the Rising Northeast Investors Summit that was held in Delhi.

Jyotiraditya Scindia stated, “We welcomed delegations from over 80 countries — from Japan to Europe to ASEAN nations, and there was one unanimous sentiment: India’s future lies in the Northeast.”

Scindia, who is the Minister of Development of the North Eastern Region has also clarified that the ministry has tried to develop eight high-level task forces across different sectors. Sectors such as Agriculture, Sports, Investment promotion, Tourism, Economic corridors, infrastructure, textiles and handicrafts and animal husbandry. These task forces will allow each state of the North Eastern region to make their own roadmap.

“For the first time, a joint programme for all eight states of the north east is underway. Roadshows were held for it in cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Indore. Meetings were held with various industrial groups. As a result of this effort, a world-class investment summit was organized. Memorandums of Understanding worth Rs 4.18 lakh crore have been announced,” Scindia stated.

He has also announced that all the states have received investment proposals from different companies. In the summit many industry leaders and new startups and entrepreneurs from the region itself participated. They were also joined by ambassadors from 50 different countries in the summit.

Scindia announced, “Each state received investment proposals of Rs 20,000 crore. Along with industrial group leaders, new entrepreneurs from the eight states and ambassadors from 50 countries participated in the summit. We are committed to ensure these investments take off.”
