Jain Social Group Beverly Hills hosted a Lunch followed by Star Studded movie screening. The tenth anniversary screening of the movie Selma was held at the world-famous David Geffen Theater. A dome shaped special theater which is a must-see venue of lovely Los Angeles being a part of the Academy Museum.
Rajendra Vora Founder & President of the group welcomed FOX TV news anchor Christine Divine, members & guests. Vice President & Secretary Harshit Badani, Treasurer Neena Jain & PR Ketan Sharma joined the President Rajendra Vora to ensure that no guest misses the mouth-watering delicacies and food from India’s Grill as they outlined their group’s activities.
Popular TV anchor Christine Divine said “I am so impressed about your Jain community. Your members are so talented in their profession & businesses, highly educated, successful & family oriented. I am thankful to your dynamic President Mr. Vora who invited me today”. After a sumptuous lunch everyone thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie Selma.
Actor David Oyelowo gave a stirring performance as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in this powerful historical drama from Academy Award-nominated director Ava DuVernay. By avoiding the traditional approach to any Hollywood biopic, DuVernay’s film focused on Dr. King’s struggle for equal voting rights, culminating in the 1965 Selma to Montgomery march.
After the special screening, actor Omar Dorsey, Director Ava DuVernay, actor Andre Holland, actor Stephan James, actor Niecy Nash Betts, actor David Oyelowo, actor Wendell Pierce, and actor Henry G. Sanders attended a session of Q&A moderated by Elvis Mitchell, talking about the interesting aspects of the movie.
