Odisha’s recent mega investors’ roadshow in Singapore has been hailed as a significant success in attracting global investments. Held on November 19, 2024, the event showcased the state’s potential to over 300 delegates, including industry leaders, investors, and members of the Odia diaspora. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led the delegation, emphasizing Odisha’s commitment to becoming a prime investment destination.

During the roadshow, CM Majhi highlighted Odisha’s vast natural resources, world-class infrastructure, and skilled workforce. He stated, “Odisha, with its rich resources and skilled workforce, is poised for transformative growth,” inviting investors to participate in the upcoming ‘Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025.’

The interactive sessions focused on fostering ties with investors from the ASEAN region and generated significant interest from industry representatives. High-level discussions were held with Singapore’s Minister of Transport, CHEE Hong Tat, aimed at developing integrated multimodal logistics solutions inspired by Singapore’s advanced systems. The areas of discussion included coastal shipping and digital freight management.

Odisha’s plans for skill development were also a key focus, with intentions to collaborate with Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education and Education Services (ITEES) to enhance workforce capabilities. The delegation participated in a roundtable supported by Enterprise Singapore and FICCI, exploring opportunities in sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, and IT.

Prominent companies like Agrocorp International and Aurionpro Payment Solutions expressed growing interest in Odisha’s investment potential. One-on-one discussions with global leaders from firms like Linde and Vena Energy centered on attracting investments in chemicals, petrochemicals, IT, textiles, and more.

The delegation also visited the Port of Singapore Authority to gain insights into advanced port management strategies. Odisha aims to implement these best practices to enhance its ports’ efficiency and support a port-led economic growth model.
