Indian Seniors of Chicago celebrates a Musical Diwali

Indian seniors of Chicago celebrated their annual function and Diwali at Manav Seva Mandir in Bensenville, Illinois on October 26, 2024. Around 430 members and guests became part of this celebration which was handled by Bhupendra Suthar and Daxa Parikh.

Panna Shah, Executive Board member provided details about the 24-year journey of Indian Seniors of Chicago. Guest of honors Dahyabhai Prajapati, Chairman Manav Seva Mandir Trustee board, Raju Chauhan, president Manav Seva mandir, Bhailal Patel, Shirish Patel, Narsinh Patel, Rohit Joshi, Ishwar Patel and Dilip Patel were invited on stage for Deep Pragatya.

Dahyabhai Prajapati presented details of Manav Seva mandir programs and spoke about atrocities on minorities in Bangladesh and emphasized the need for fund collection in the future to help victims. Dilip Patel and Raju Chauhan wished Diwali to the members and guests. Dilip Patel, President of the group honored guests with flower bouquets.

Daxa Parikh provided opening notes about the Musical program and the musical group – SAREGAMA, and thereafter musicians started an entertaining program. The environment became so musical and energetic that all 70+ old seniors came in front dancing along with the songs. A tea break followed.

After the break, Navin Patel and Kanti Patel conducted the felicitation ceremony and honored the donors and sponsors of the program with roses and gifts. Kanti Patel gave away the vote of thanks.

In the second half of the program, musicians and singers put a joyful and nonstop entertainment with Bollywood songs that made members dance till the end of the Diwali celebration. In the end, Daxa Parikh and Panna Shah honored the singers and musicians with gifts and flowers.
