Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has embarked on a tour of the United States, aimed at attracting significant investments to the state. The tour, which began on August 3, is a strategic effort to bolster economic growth and encourage participation from Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) in Telangana’s development agenda.
On Sunday, Chief Minister Reddy met with members of the Telangana and Telugu community in the U.S., urging them to invest in the state. He emphasized the government’s commitment to creating an investment-friendly atmosphere that would drive robust economic growth and create employment opportunities.
Reddy’s itinerary includes meetings with key executives from major U.S. companies such as meeting with the CEO of Cognizant, senior leadership from PepsiCo and HCA, and the World Bank president in Washington DC. He will be visiting Apple Park and meeting the Apple manufacturing team in California and a visit to Google headquarters and Stanford University is also planned.
The Chief Minister is actively promoting Telangana as an attractive investment destination. He expressed his desire to create a “fourth city” in Hyderabad, in addition to the existing Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Cyberabad. Reddy assured that the government would bring a new industrial policy to achieve rapid inclusive economic growth, keeping in view the future needs of the state.
Touching an emotional chord, Reddy reminded the diaspora that Telangana is their birthplace and that investing in the state would reap benefits for all. He urged the expatriates to be partners in the development of the region.
This tour follows a successful trip by the Chief Minister to the World Economic Forum in Davos earlier this year, where he secured investments worth approximately ₹40,000 crore (around $5 billion) for Telangana. Reddy is keen on tapping investments on an even bigger scale during his US visit.
The Chief Minister’s tour aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Telangana and the U.S. He will extend invitations to American official delegations to visit Telangana and witness firsthand the state’s rapid growth and development. This initiative is expected to further encourage investments and foster stronger ties between the two regions.
