Anant Ambani, the son of Billionaire Tycoon, Mukesh Ambani tied the knot to his childhood sweetheart Radhika Merchant, Pharmaceutical heiress, on Friday. It was a star-studded event with guests including International celebrities, two former British Prime Ministers and high-profile global business leaders.
The wedding took place at the Ambani-owned Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai as well as the family residence. The marriage concluded after several months of wedding celebrations with earlier appearances by popular singers like Rihanna and Justin Bieber.
The lavish celebration was graced by TV personality Kim Kardashian, her sister Khloe, rapper Rema, ex-UK PM Tony Blair, Saudi Aramco CEO Amin Nasser, Samsung Electronics chairman Jay Lee, and GSK plc CEO Emma Walmsley.
American actor and rapper John Cena, along with Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, danced at the ‘baraat’ along with Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and the groom Anant Ambani. Before joining the wedding ceremony, the Kardashian sisters shared a video of enjoying themselves in a motorized rickshaw around busy Mumbai streets.
The International guests donned traditional attire created by leading Indian fashion designers. They wore sherwanis with embroidery, which are long-sleeved outer coats commonly worn by men in South Asia. Cena arrived wearing a sky-blue sherwani and white pants. Nick Jonas donned a pink sherwani along with white pants.
Some other well-known individuals at the bride and groom’s pre-wedding celebrations were Ivanka Trump, Hillary Clinton, Bill Gates, and royal family members from Bhutan.
