Indian American Impact proudly congratulates its endorsed candidates on their victories in congressional races: Rep. Ami Bera (CA-03), Rep. Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17), and Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), who won reelection, and Pia Dandiya (FL-22) and Dr. Amish Shah (AZ-01), who won their first elections to Congress.
Shah will be the first Indian American to represent Arizona in Congress, and Dandiya the first to represent Florida.
Impact marshaled and invested over $625,000 in congressional races this cycle
Chintan Patel, Executive Director of Indian American Impact, shared the following statement:
“Dr. Amish Shah and Pia Dandiya will be the newest Indian American members of Congress, and their victories speak to the growing political power of our communities. They join Rep. Bera, Rep. Jayapal, Rep. Khanna, and Rep. Subramanyam, strong champions of our community and friends of Indian American Impact.
All six are committed to lowering costs for working families, expanding access to health care, and protecting immigrants, and they will serve as a powerful check on the Trump administration in the next Congress.
At a time of rising hate against our communities, representation matters, and they will fight to keep our communities safe.
We congratulate each on their well-deserved victories, and we look forward to working with this group to deliver for all Americans.”
Since its inception in 2016, Indian American Impact has endorsed and supported 200+ candidates across the country, contributing to the historic rise of Indian and South Asian American representation in politics. Through strategic investments and grassroots organizing, Impact has marshaled upwards of $20 million to candidates and robust voter mobilization and policy advocacy efforts, amplifying the voices of South Asian Americans and driving positive change in communities nationwide.
