The makers of the upcoming epic film Ramayana have released ‘Mangal Rang’, a new song celebrating the relationship between Lord Rama and Goddess Sita, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi. Composed by A. R. Rahman, the track features Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal on vocals, with lyrics by Dr Kumar Vishwas in the Hindi version.

Released across five languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, the song presents key moments from Rama and Sita’s journey, including their wedding, palace life and experiences during exile. The release expands the film’s musical outreach ahead of its scheduled worldwide theatrical debut on November 5, 2026.

The music video opens with glimpses of Mithila, where Sita’s swayamvar takes place, and follows Rama as he lifts Lord Shiva’s bow. It then moves through the wedding celebrations, elaborate palace settings and scenes depicting the couple’s life beyond Ayodhya. The visuals use expansive landscapes and traditional imagery to convey the emotional and spiritual dimensions of their relationship.

Rahman’s composition seeks to capture the tenderness and devotion associated with the legendary couple. Singh described the experience of singing the song as deeply transformative, while Ghoshal highlighted the faith, understanding and strength at the heart of Rama and Sita’s bond.

The multilingual release features different singers for each version. Abhay Jodhpurkar and Saindhavi perform the Tamil rendition, Raghav Kaushik and Vaishali Samant sing the Telugu version, Armaan Malik and Bela Shende feature in Kannada, and Naresh Iyer and Amritha Rajan lend their voices to Malayalam.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part 1 features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana.

‘Mangal Rang’ follows the film’s earlier musical releases, ‘Jai Jai Ram’ and ‘Ravana Tandav’, building anticipation for the upcoming cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic.
