The USA-based Rajasthani Organization of American Residents (ROAR), in collaboration with its youth initiative, Youth of Rajasthan (YOR), organized Prasad Vitran Seva at the historic Harshnath Temple in Sikar, Rajasthan, on the auspicious occasion of Durga Ashtami, a sacred day during Navratri dedicated to the worship of Maa Durga.
The occasion witnessed an extraordinary outpouring of devotion, with more than 40,000 devotees visiting Harshnath Hills to seek the blessings of Harshnath Baba. The overwhelming turnout reflected the deep spiritual significance of this ancient temple and its enduring place in the religious and cultural life of Rajasthan.

An Extraordinary Gathering of Faith and Devotion
The influx of devotees was so significant that vehicles were parked along the hill roads, extending up to approximately five kilometres from the temple. Pilgrims patiently waited in long queues for hours for the opportunity to have Darshan of Harshnath Baba, demonstrating remarkable faith, devotion, and perseverance.
Given the large number of visitors, special arrangements were made to facilitate the pilgrimage and support the comfort and safety of devotees. These included water seva, pandals, resting facilities, and security arrangements to help manage the crowds and provide assistance to pilgrims throughout the day.
Amid this atmosphere of devotion and community service, ROAR and YOR contributed through the distribution of Prasad, embracing the timeless Indian tradition of seva—serving others with humility, compassion, and devotion.

ROAR President Tarang Soni Expresses Gratitude
Mrs. Tarang Soni, President of the Rajasthani Organization of American Residents (ROAR), expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Harshnath Temple authorities and the Archaeological Survey of India for their valuable support, cooperation, and assistance in facilitating the initiative.
She shared her happiness and privilege in being part of this auspicious religious ceremony, emphasizing the importance of preserving Rajasthan’s spiritual traditions and contributing to the welfare of devotees.
The initiative reflects ROAR’s continued commitment to connecting the Rajasthani diaspora in the United States with the cultural, spiritual, and social heritage of Rajasthan. Through initiatives that combine community service with cultural preservation, ROAR seeks to strengthen the connection between overseas Rajasthanis and their ancestral homeland.
Harshnath Temple: A Timeless Treasure of Rajasthan’s Heritage

Perched atop the scenic Harshnath Hills near Sikar, the Harshnath Temple is a remarkable testament to Rajasthan’s ancient architecture, artistic excellence, and spiritual legacy. Dating back to the 10th century, the temple is associated with the Chauhan period and is dedicated to Lord Shiva, worshipped here as Harshnath.
The historic temple complex suffered extensive destruction during the 17th century, traditionally associated with the Mughal period under Emperor Aurangzeb. Portions of the complex were subsequently reconstructed in the 18th century. Despite the passage of centuries, the temple continues to draw devotees, pilgrims, historians, and heritage enthusiasts, standing as a symbol of Rajasthan’s enduring religious traditions and cultural resilience.
Serving Society, Preserving Heritage, Connecting Generations
Through this initiative, ROAR and Youth of Rajasthan reaffirmed their commitment to community welfare, religious service, and the preservation of Rajasthan’s rich cultural identity. The participation of a USA-based organization in a religious service initiative in Rajasthan also underscores the meaningful role that the global Rajasthani diaspora can play in supporting traditions and communities in their homeland.

The Prasad Vitran initiative was not merely an act of religious service; it was a celebration of shared faith, collective responsibility, and the timeless spirit of seva that unites communities across generations and geographical boundaries.
