India on Sunday strongly condemned repeated attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, including a strike on October 10 that reportedly killed 13 people, including the death of an Indian national, and injured hundreds, calling for an immediate end to attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.

In a statement shared by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, India described the attacks as “completely unacceptable” and urged all parties to halt the violence. The government also expressed condolences to the families of those killed and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

“We express solidarity with the people and the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in defence of their sovereignty, and hope that peace and normalcy returns to the region at the earliest,” the MEA said.

The latest attack targeted the King Khalid International Airport complex in Riyadh, with a missile striking the area housing terminals 3 and 4, which serve domestic flights. The assault caused casualties and property damage, prompting the suspension of airport operations and disruption to air travel.

A Saudi-led coalition blamed Iran-backed Houthi rebels based in neighbouring Yemen for the attack. The incident marked a further escalation in regional hostilities, raising concerns about civilian safety and the security of critical infrastructure.

According to reports, the people killed included four Saudi nationals, two Bangladeshi citizens and nationals of the United States, Palestine, Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Sudan. More than 300 people were injured, with several requiring medical treatment.

India’s condemnation comes amid a series of attacks on Saudi aviation facilities in recent days. New Delhi reiterated its support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure must remain a priority.

The latest developments have also heightened concerns over regional stability and the potential impact on international air travel. India called for peace and a return to normalcy as tensions continue across the region.
