Veteran actor and Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 host Amitabh Bachchan sustained a left knee injury after slipping and falling during the shooting of the quiz show, but reassured viewers that the injury was minor and that his professional commitments would continue as scheduled.
Bachchan revealed the injury during a recent episode of KBC 18, when he delivered his customary opening monologue while seated instead of standing at the centre of the stage. He explained that he had slipped during the previous day’s shoot and had some difficulty standing because of the injury.
The 83-year-old actor pointed towards his left knee while addressing the audience and assured them that there was no major cause for concern. He said he planned to stand during the main gameplay segments to interact with contestants, while taking short breaks between takes. His treatment was also being managed on the set, according to reports.
The incident comes as Bachchan continues his television commitments as the host of the 18th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. The show continues to air on Sony Entertainment Television and stream digitally on SonyLIV.
Bachchan has previously spoken publicly about several health setbacks and injuries over the course of his career. His recent knee injury has once again drawn attention from fans, although the actor’s own update indicated that he intended to continue working.
