Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn expressed his desire for Malayalam superstar Mohanlal to watch the upcoming Hindi film Drishyam: The Conclusion, saying that would be a great morale booster for the film. The film, which marks the third instalment of the Hindi series, is scheduled to release in theatres on October 2, 2026.

Speaking at the film’s trailer launch in Goa, Devgn said he wanted Mohanlal, who was associated with the original Malayalam Drishyam films, to see the new movie. He said their appreciation of the film would make him happy.

The actor also clarified that the Hindi third instalment follows a storyline that is substantially different from the Malayalam franchise. While the 2015 Hindi Drishyam and its 2022 sequel were based on the Malayalam films, Devgn said the new film was developed from an entirely different script rather than being a modified version of the Malayalam third instalment.

Devgn described making the third film as a major challenge because the story had to continue from the events of Drishyam 2 while maintaining the franchise’s suspense and twists. He revealed that director Abhishek Pathak and the writing team worked on the screenplay for around two and a half years before arriving at the final script.

Drishyam: The Conclusion brings Devgn back as Vijay Salgaonkar, alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor. Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj join the cast, with Ahlawat playing a Crime Branch officer investigating the long-running case surrounding Vijay and his family.

October 2 theatrical release will bring Vijay Salgaonkar’s story to its next and final stage.
