Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc. (WCFR) honored distinguished gastroenterologist and Indian-American healthcare leader Dr. Mukul Arya, MD, with its inaugural Global Healthcare Leader of the Year Award during the organization’s sold-out 15th Anniversary and Fundraising Gala.
The Caribbean-themed celebration was held on September 19, 2026, at Hotel Nyack–JDV by Hyatt in Nyack, New York. The event brought together healthcare professionals, elected officials, philanthropists, business leaders, and community advocates to celebrate 15 years of lifesaving service.
Dr. Arya was recognized for his professional excellence, visionary leadership, commitment to advancing healthcare, and dedication to serving others. He recently completed the prestigious Harvard Medical School Global Healthcare Leaders Program alongside WCFR Founder and President Dr. Jacqueline Cassagnol.
“Dr. Arya represents the compassionate, innovative, and globally minded leadership that healthcare needs,” said Dr. Cassagnol. “We were proud to recognize his accomplishments and present him with WCFR’s first Global Healthcare Leader of the Year Award.”
Acclaimed restaurateur and entrepreneur Roni Mazumdar presented the award to Dr. Arya. Following the gala, Dr. Arya described himself as “deeply humbled and grateful” for the recognition.
The evening also recognized the Arya Family Foundation and Unapologetic Foods as WCFR’s Premier Sponsors. Their generous support helped make the milestone celebration possible and will further WCFR’s mission to prevent deaths worldwide through education and training.
Among the distinguished guests were United States Congressman Mike Lawler, New York State Senator Bill Weber, and Rockland County Legislator Toney L. Earl.
