Deputy Consul General Vishal Harsh met with Ms. Anushka Dhariwal, who has been selected to participate in the 89th Know India Programme (KIP), an initiative of the Government of India designed to connect young members of the Indian diaspora with India and its diverse heritage. Anushka is the only one selected from the United States for the 89th KIP.
Anushka Dhariwal, a recent Rutgers University graduate will participate in the two-week program from September 15 to 29, 2026. The program will provide her with an opportunity to explore India’s rich history, cultural traditions, governance and development journey while interacting with Indian institutions, youth organizations and other participants from the global Indian diaspora. Anushka’s selection represents an opportunity to experience India firsthand, build connections with fellow young members of the diaspora and carry those experiences back to her community in the United States.

Through visits, discussions and cultural experiences, KIP aims to give participants a deeper understanding of contemporary India and strengthen their connection with the country of their heritage. During his meeting with Anushka, Acting Consul General Vishal Harsh conveyed his best wishes for a meaningful, informative and enriching KIP experience.
The program is organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, as part of its efforts to engage with and familiarize the younger generation of the Indian diaspora with India’s heritage and contemporary development.
