Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan turned 46 on Monday, with family, friends and industry colleagues flooding social media with birthday wishes. A childhood photograph shared by her elder sister, Karisma Kapoor, became one of the highlights of the celebrations, with fans quickly pointing out Kareena’s striking resemblance to her younger son, Jehangir Ali Khan, popularly known as Jeh.
Karisma shared a throwback photograph of the sisters from their childhood and described Kareena as the “best sister ever”, recalling their bond of growing up “side by side”. The nostalgic post drew considerable attention online, particularly to the resemblance between young Kareena and Jeh. Several fans jokingly asked, “Jeh is that you?” while others commented on the similarities between the mother and son.
The birthday celebrations extended beyond the Kapoor family, with several Bollywood personalities sharing tributes for the actor. Priyanka Chopra posted a photograph of Kareena in a saree and wished her, saying there would “never be anyone like you”. Kiara Advani referred to Kareena as the “OG Diva”, while actor Anil Kapoor also shared a birthday message celebrating her personality.
Kareena’s sister-in-law Soha Ali Khan joined the celebrations with a retro twist. She used the popular 1980s AI trend to create a digitally reimagined family photograph featuring Kareena, Saif Ali Khan, Soha and Kunal Khemu in period-inspired outfits. Soha called Kareena a style icon and said the ’80s theme was fitting for someone born in 1980.
The birthday comes shortly after the release of Kareena’s latest film, Daayra, which hit theatres on September 18. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film stars Kareena opposite Prithviraj Sukumaran, marking their first collaboration.
