Actor Parineeti Chopra is set to make her series debut with Netflix’s mystery thriller ‘Shaque: Trust No One’, which will premiere on September 24. The makers announced the release date on Monday, adding to anticipation around the actor’s first major series role.

The thriller follows a mother who spends nine years searching for her missing child. As the search progresses, she begins uncovering secrets and questioning the people closest to her, blurring the lines between trust, suspicion, instinct and truth.

Directed by Rensil D’Silva, the series has been created by D’Silva and Siddharth P. Malhotra and is backed by Alchemy Films. The makers have kept several details of the plot under wraps, with the central mystery expected to drive the narrative.

For Chopra, ‘Shaque’ marks a new phase in her career as she moves from films to a leading role in a streaming series. She will be joined by Jennifer Winget, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Harleen Sethi, Sumeet Vyas and Dhruv Chowdhary.

The series centres on the emotional journey of a mother whose determination to find her child leads her deeper into a web of secrets. The storyline is expected to explore how prolonged uncertainty can alter relationships and challenge the idea of whom one can trust.

Netflix had earlier described the project as a gripping mystery thriller set in Shimla, highlighting Chopra’s series debut.

With its combination of an emotional family story, missing-child mystery and an ensemble cast, ‘Shaque: Trust No One’ is among Netflix’s upcoming Indian thriller releases.
