Honda Cars India on Thursday unveiled the all-new Honda ZR-V Hybrid as its flagship SUV for the Indian market, marking the company’s renewed push into the premium hybrid vehicle segment. The SUV was revealed alongside the launch of the facelifted Honda City and will be sold in India as a completely built unit (CBU) in limited numbers. Pre-bookings for the ZR-V have already opened, while deliveries are scheduled to begin in July 2026.
The new ZR-V Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a dual-motor strong-hybrid system and an e-CVT gearbox. Honda claims the powertrain produces a combined output of 184hp and 315Nm, enabling the SUV to sprint from 0-100kph in 8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 172kph. The company has also stated that the SUV delivers a fuel efficiency of 22.79kpl.
The SUV features all-LED lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust tips, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a 9-inch infotainment screen and a 10.2-inch digital driver’s display. International models also get Level 2 ADAS, a 12-speaker Bose sound system and wireless connectivity features.
Honda has not yet announced the official launch price, but reports suggest the SUV could be priced between ₹40 lakh and ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom) due to high import duties on CBU vehicles. The ZR-V will compete with premium SUVs such as the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq and Nissan X-Trail in the Indian market.
