Anil Kapoor’s action–spy drama “24” has finally arrived on streaming, almost a decade after it first aired on television. The entire series, including both seasons, will start streaming on JioHotstar from April 24, 2026, giving fans a chance to watch the high–tension thriller again or for the first time.
The show, an Indian adaptation of the American series “24”, follows ATU Chief Jai Singh Rathod, played by Anil Kapoor, as he fights to save Mumbai from a series of terrorist attacks. Each season is packed with real–time tension, centred on a 24–hour period in which Rathod races against the clock, deals with a traitor inside his own team, and protects a young political leader who is in grave danger.
On JioHotstar, the makers are releasing eight episodes every Friday, rather than dropping the full season at once. The first season originally aired on Colors TV from October 4 to December 21, 2013, and had 24 episodes, each set within a compressed hour of real–time drama.
The cast includes Anil Kapoor as Jai Singh Rathod, Tisca Chopra as his wife Trisha Rathod, Sapna Pabbi as his daughter Kiran, and a supporting line–up of actors like Anupam Kher, Mandira Bedi, Shabana Azmi, and Neil Bhoopalam, who bring political and bureaucratic pressure into the storyline. With fast cuts, ticking clocks, and moral dilemmas, “24” remains one of Indian television’s most talked, about political, action thrillers, and its OTT debut is expected to draw a new audience to the series.
