A shocking security lapse hit the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Monday afternoon. A masked man in a white SUV smashed through Gate No. 2, a key VVIP entry point, and drove inside the high-security zone before fleeing. The event around 2 pm has left officials stunned and staff panicked.

The vehicle with Uttar Pradesh number plate, rammed the iron gate on the Mall Road side. Eyewitnesses saw it move freely for about five minutes. The driver went straight to Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta’s office porch, left a flower bouquet, and sped away as guards approached.

Police acted fast. They arrested the driver, Sarabjit Singh (37), plus two others. The car was seized, and bomb disposal plus forensic teams checked the site. CCTV footage is under review. No explosives were found, but the breach came after recent bomb threat emails during the Budget Session.

This incident recalls the 2001 Parliament attack. The SUV skipped main checkpoints and used a closed gate, showing big flaws in layers of security like frisking gear.

Assembly leaders ordered a high-level probe as the security breach sparked calls for tighter measures at Delhi assembly premises.
