Akshay Kumar’s latest horror-comedy trailer for Bhooth Bangla has divided fans online. Some love the nostalgic laughs, while others call it old and recycled.
Fans spot clear nods to Hera Pheri in the trailer. They hail Akshay’s signature laugh as a “laugh riot” and label the film “OG Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2”. One fan said, “Hera Pheri meets Bhool Bhulaiyaa!” showing excitement for the Priyadarshan-Akshay reunion after 14 years. The trailer promises paranormal fun in a haunted Bangla, with stars like Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Wamiqa Gabbi. It drops on April 17, 2026, in theaters.
But backlash is strong too. Netizens slam it for “copy-pasting content” with “sab purana” jokes from past films. Comments like “Everything seems old, nothing fresh. Just copy-pasted from Bhool Bhulaiyaa” flood social media.
The three-minute trailer shared by Akshay on social media got fire emojis from supporters but disappointment from others. Priyadarshan’s style mixes horror and comedy, but some miss fresh ideas. Will it hit big at the box office or flop like a “meme template”?
Early buzz shows a split: old-school fans cheer the comedy king, while new viewers want originality.
