Vodafone Idea (Vi), one of India’s top telecom firms, has big plans for 5G. The company will roll out its super-fast 5G service in 90 more cities by May this year. This move aims to bring high-speed internet to millions of users across the country.

Vi already offers 5G in several places. Now, it will cover more urban and semi-urban areas. The expansion uses help from top global partners like Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung. These firms supply the key equipment to make 5G work smoothly.

“We want every Indian to enjoy 5G benefits soon,” said a Vi spokesperson. The service promises faster downloads, better video calls, and smooth online gaming. Users can expect speeds up to 10 times quicker than 4G. This will help students study online, doctors share scans quickly, and businesses run without delays.

The new cities include spots in states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Vi focuses on busy hubs where people need reliable networks. By May end, the total 5G coverage will grow a lot. This comes at a time when rivals like Jio and Airtel have pushed ahead in 5G rollout.

India’s telecom market is heating up. With over 1.1 billion mobile users, demand for better data is sky-high. Vi, which faced money troubles before, is now investing heavy in 5G. It raised funds last year to build this network.

Experts say this will boost India’s digital growth. “5G can change factories, farms, and schools,” noted telecom analyst. But users must have 5G-ready phones to use it.

Vi urges customers to check coverage on its app. The company plans more expansions later this year. For now, this step marks a key win for Vi in the 5G race.
